Northglenn High School Band & Orchestra

This website is provided through the efforts of the Northglenn High School Music Boosters organization.
This volunteer group provides support to the instrumental music program by:

assisting with fundraising,
  • organizing special events,
  • providing transportation,
  • purchasing and managing uniforms/costumes and props, and
  • helping to provide for any other needs of the bands and orchestra.
Please check out all of our pages to learn more.
The Northglenn High School Band Boosters is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Parents, step-parents and guardians of students in any of these programs are automatically members of the Band Boosters, as are alumni and any other interested community members.
One of the great benefits for students and Band Booster members is the interaction, encouragement,  enthusiasm, and support that exists with families and their children working together for a common goal.
Northglenn High School Instrumental Music Program
Parent involvement is CRITICAL to our success, and there are many ways to help!
Bingo volunteers: Bingo is the main $$$$ foundation of our Music Program. It makes it possible for Northglenn to keep student fees low and to have a marching band at all. We run Bingo every Friday evening of the year. Adult volunteers are required by the Bingo Hall along with the students. Time commitment: one evening per month after initial training.

Marching Band volunteers: We need adults to help move equipment like props and percussion instruments on and off the field for home football game performances as well as for competitions. We need volunteers to help with uniforms, provide donations of food for the students and volunteers on competition days, and drive the equipment truck/trailer. Sign-ups for volunteering and food donations will be done by Sign-up Genius during the fall marching band season. Free entry to the events and making new friends is a perk of volunteering! Time commitment: varies from a few hours for Friday night home games to several hours for Saturday competitions. Sign up for whatever works for your availability.

Band/Orchestra Boosters: If you have a student in the program, you are automatically part of Band/Orchestra Boosters. You are welcome to attend the monthly Boosters Board meetings to find out about the latest decisions and updates in the program. We also need volunteers who don’t necessarily want to be on the Board but would like to help with uniforms, fundraising, and other activities. Board meetings typically happen the third Thursday evening of the month, but the specifics are announced in advance each month.

Leadership Roles – Boosters Board Members: Training by current board members is provided. Time commitment includes attendance at monthly board meetings plus weekly and/or monthly time to perform duties of the position.
  • Finance Chair: If you have accounting/bookkeeping background, we need you. Likely would require a couple hours per week of on-going maintenance of the Booster organizations financial information, including providing reporting for our monthly meetings and as needed for school district. Processes are in place and training is provided.
  • Bingo Chair: Coordinate volunteer staffing for Friday night Bingo and manage Bingo supplies. Get trained to manage Bingo sessions. This position requires weekly time commitment and strong organizational and management skills.
  • Fundraising Chair: This position plans and coordinates monthly non-Bingo fundraising activities, both those that benefit the Music Program and those that benefit students to go toward individual trip costs. This is an ideal situation for co-chairs if two individuals would like to share the position and split the duties.
  • Guard Liaison: Work with the Guard Director throughout the year to communicate needs for the guard to the Board.
  • Orchestra Liaison: Responsible to help with any Orchestra needs throughout the year and communicate with Board.
  • Special Events Chair/Volunteer Coordinator:  Responsible for getting volunteers (making Sign-up Genius) and coordinating the calendar of events for the program (except Bingo) with the Band/Orchestra Director and Boosters Board.  Examples of such events include senior night, helpers and meals during competition, etc. Processes are already established, so you don’t have to reinvent the wheel. Co-chairs could share this position.
  • Uniform Chair: Planning and coordinating all aspects of uniforms and costumes for marching band.  Coordinates uniform/costume cleaning, fitting and alterations, storage arrangements, and check-out and check-in. Another position for which co-chairs could share duties and have a few additional volunteers to help. The busiest time is summer preparation and fall marching season.
  • Secretary: Takes minutes for the Booster Board meetings. Answers email inquiries sent through web site. Maintains Boosters organization records. Usually volunteers in other ways, too, like for Bingo, special events.
  • Communications Chair: Gather information from other Board members to write and send the weekly email. Posts information to our Facebook page. Writes fliers like this, as needed.
  • Website Coordinator: Keeps the website updated with information provided by other Board members

Charms - The web site we use for weekly emails, keeping tracking of individual student fundraising, and other organizational needs. Instructions for logging into Charms coming soon.
